Born in 1943 in Scotland, he lives in North Irland.
Alastair is today one of the most significant and the most active
in performance and installation,
but also one of the most respected and influent
among those who work in and around the cultural system.
Teacher in master degree of art at the Uster University in Belfast,
he appears regularly in international seminars
and performs in the whole wide world.
He defends the commitment of art in formal and political systems,
meanwhile staying very close from everyday life and making performative
installations often very long he calls "Actuation".
Invited at the Venise Biennale of 1997,
he is also a member of Black Market International.
